“Positions”: Galen Hooks Method Pro Intensive
Caroline Swiger was honored to have been accepted to the GHM PRO intensive in Atlanta in 2022. The intensive is a high-stakes training for industry dancers. This video is a mock rehearsal for Ariana Grande. The dancers learned and filmed this piece in 4 hours and changes were made dozens of times to intentionally throw off the dancers the way they would on the job. She was grateful to have learned what working with an artist is like and the nuances of camera work from an individual as skilled and seasoned as Galen Hooks.

“Growing Pains” Point Park University’s
Student Choreography Project

The presented video is Caroline’s full length work presented at Point Park University’s theatre at the Student Choreography Project in 2022. Her work, featuring Jessie Eastlund, Julia Flesch, Kaylan Gardner, Julianne Horowitz, and Brooke Thompson, is a commercial heels piece showing the cycle of personal growth humans experience: Growing up is realizing that progress within oneself and in life is non-linear. There are moments that feel lonely and impossible, followed by experences that open our eyes to the beauty in ourselves and in this life we get to live. This piece is a representation of the constant cycle of growth: overcoming. To remind you to hold on, the low is temporary. Growing Pains are those transformative moments that endlessly shape us into truer versions of ourselves.
